Reports are being received that Gladman Developments’ who are responsible for a widely objected to application to build 245 homes which met with widespread protests on both sides of the Reading/South Oxfordshire border are now fighting the decision by lodging an appeal against the decision to throw the plans out.
The plans where thrown out based on the grounds that the area did not have the infrastructure to cope with such a large development is now to have an independent planning expert review the application, as well as the objections raised by locals and Both Councillor Tony Page, Reading Borough Council’s lead councillor for strategic environment, planning and transport and Reading East MP Matt Rodda.
Particular concerns raised by people living in the tiny parish of Dunsden, which would more than double in size along with at least seven parish councils in South Oxfordshire who also objected.
Major concerns were also raised by Reading Borough Council over both the traffic generated, the affect on bus services and the lack of school places for children living in the new homes. It is now required that representations from supporters or objectors must be made by Friday, December 8.
