Controversial Caversham bus route changes to be discussed
Caversham Bus users and residents will be able to have there say at a public meeting here in Caversham at 7pm on Friday 3rd November held at Highdown School, Emmer Green.
Martin Gilbert Cheif Executive officer and Matt Rodda MP will be in attendannce. A recent petition signed by over a 1000 people have forced Reading Buses to rethink the proposed changed to the 22 service through Caversham Heights.
The revised Reading Buses services in Caversham is that double decker buses will run every 20 minutes along the Caversham Heights route, including Woodcote Road and Highmoor Road. The exisiting service runs every 30 minutes.
However, Reading Buses are still planning to withdraw Pink 24, but a new Pink 24 service for concessionary pass and off-peak daytime customers will run in its place after the morning rush hour.
The revised loop service will run from Emmer Green, Caversham centre, Caversham Heights and Albert Road but would not go into Reading. The reason for this change to the Caversham bus network is necessary as current routes lose considerable money.
